World Youth Day 2027 - South Korea

Our parish is organizing a pilgrimage for young adults to attend World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul, South Korea.

World Youth Day is a global gathering where millions of young Catholics come together with the Holy Father to celebrate the faith, pray, and experience the beauty of the universal Church. It is much more than a trip — it is a pilgrimage and a powerful experience of faith and fraternity.

  • - Destination: Seoul, South Korea 
  • - Dates: July 27 – August 10, 2027
  • - Length: 15 days
  • - Who can participate? Young adults 18 years of age or older.

Registration Deadline: July 31, 2026

To guarantee your place in the parish group, please register no later than July 31, 2026. After this date, all new registrations will be placed on a waiting list and accepted only if space becomes available. Space is limited.

Registering early allows you to:

  • - Reduce your pilgrimage cost through fundraising opportunities.

Estimated Total: $4,698 per person

This estimate includes the current package price. Final pricing may vary slightly due to airline taxes and exchange rates.

Parish Fundraising

We don't expect you to do this alone. Throughout the year, St. Mary's Parish will organize some fundraising events to help pilgrims reduce the cost of the trip.

The earlier you register, the more fundraising opportunities you'll be able to participate in.

What Will We Experience? This pilgrimage includes much more than sightseeing. Pilgrims will participate in:

  • - Days in the Dioceses (one week)
  • - Opening Mass
  • - Catechesis with bishops
  • - Prayer and cultural festivals
  • - Meeting young Catholics from around the world
  • - Pilgrimage walk
  • - Prayer Vigil with the Holy Father
  • - Closing Mass with Pope Leo XIV
  • - Time to explore Seoul and experience Korean culture.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Participants will need:

  • - A valid passport.
  • - Passport valid for at least six months after returning.
  • - Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA), if required at the time of travel.
  • - Personal travel information submitted several months before departure.

Faith Formation Grades and Confirmation

St. Mary’s Religious Education program provides instruction in the Catholic faith and preparation for our young people to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession), First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.  Classes are held on various days and at various times to accommodate student scheduling. Registration dates for the next school year begin in late Spring and parents are urged to register your child or children as early as possible since there are deadlines that must be met.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

The primary objective of the Children’s Liturgy of the Word is to introduce young children to the basics of the faith through participation in the Mass with a special time for them to hear an explanation of the Scriptures for the day.  The children also sing a song, participate in an activity and finish with a craft before returning to Mass with their parents.  The focus is on children age three to five although not exclusively.  Parishioners who wish to participate in this program, may contact the following:

Vacation Bible School

This is a faith-based week of fun for children four to twelve held in June each summer.
Adults who enjoy teaching children are encouraged to become involved as many volunteers are necessary to make this a successful experience.  Teens are also welcome as Aides.
