UNA GUÍA PARA EL SACRAMENTO DE LA RECONCILIACIÓN
Cómo hacer una buena confesión
Preparación: Utiliza la oración y un examen de conciencia para recordar los pecados cometidos desde tu última confesión.
Saludo: Entrar en el confesionario. Después de ser recibido por el sacerdote, haz la señal de la cruz diciendo: “En el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo. Amén."
Confesión: Dile al sacerdote cuándo fue la última vez que te confesaste, diciendo: “Bendíceme Padre, porque he pecado. Han pasado ____ (semanas / meses / años) desde mi última confesión. Estos son mis pecados ". Entonces confiesa tus pecados.
Penitencia: Escucha cualquier consejo que el sacerdote pueda dar y acepta una penitencia (puede ser una oración, una obra de misericordia o un acto de caridad) de él. Si estás confundido por algo que diga el sacerdote, pídele una aclaración.
Acto de contrición: El sacerdote te pedirá que digas un acto de contrición (en el que expresas pena por el pecado, resuelves cambiar tu vida y pides la misericordia de Dios). A continuación, se muestra una versión de esta oración.
Dios mío, me arrepiento de todo corazón de todo lo malo que he hecho y de todo lo bueno que he dejado de hacer, porque pecando te he ofendido a ti, que eres el sumo bien y digno de ser amado sobre todas las cosas. Propongo firmemente, con tu gracia, cumplir la penitencia, no volver a pecar y evitar las ocasiones de pecado. Perdóname, Señor, por los méritos de la pasión de nuestro Salvador Jesucristo. Amén.

How to Make a Good Confession
Preparation: Use prayer and an examination of conscience to recall the sins you have committed since your last confession.
Greeting: Enter the confessional. After being welcomed by the priest, make the sign of the cross saying: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
Confession: Tell the priest when your last confession was, saying: “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been ____ (weeks / months / years) since my last confession. These are my sins.” Then confess your sins.
Penance: Listen to any counsel the priest may offer and accept a penance (which may be a prayer, a work of mercy, or an act of charity) from him. If you are confused by anything the priest says, ask him for clarification.
Act of Contrition: The priest will ask you to say an Act of Contrition (in which you express sorrow for sin, resolve to amend your life, and ask for God’s mercy). Below is one version of this prayer.
My God, I am heartily sorry for all the evil I have done and for all the good I have failed to do, because by sinning I have offended you, who are the Supreme Good and worthy of being loved above all things. I firmly resolve, with your grace, to do the penance, to sin no more, and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Forgive me, Lord, through the merits of the passion of our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
Absolution: The priest will then pray the words of absolution and extend the peace of Christ. As you listen to the prayer, make the sign of the cross with the priest. You respond, “Amen,” and the priest will tell you that you may go.
